Swirly Thanks Card

Sunday 30 April 2017

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I'm sharing a card I made for the Global Design Project #084 | Case the Designer.  This week's muse is the amazingly talented Michelle Last.  Michelle is an extremely successful demonstrator and was ranked Number 3 in the Global 100 - that's out of over 50,000 demonstrators worldwide. It's such a fabulous achievement.
We've just got back from a fantastic family holiday on the Gold Coast of Australia and while I was away I had time to think about how my card would look for this week's challenge. Funnily enough it doesn't look anything like it!

I've used the Softly Falling embossing folder for the background, then layered up a thinlit from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits using Marina Mist cardstock - there are three of these layered on top of each other to give some depth. A double layer of dimensionals lifted the "loads of thanks" circle higher than the "swirl".

The "loads of thanks" is from the "You're Sublime" stamp set. I used this as I wanted the sentiment to curve around the circle. And the pot of flowers and bird are from the "Sitting Here" stamp set. I wanted to include a bird like Michelle had and a few Pearl Basic Jewels finished the front. They are such small detailed stamps that I just about needed a magnifying glass to colour them in! Oh and then I cut them out! "Madness" as my husband would say!

To tie in the "loads of thanks" sentiment on the front of the card, I used the Thanks stamp from the "Suite Sentiments" stamp set a couple of times and then cut a strip out. I couldn't resist perching the little bird on the corner.

I hope you have a great start to your week!
