Love You GDP!

Global Design Project 066 | Sketch Challenge Leaving it till the last minute again! I made my card a few days again but I just haven't had a chance to post it. I used the new Window Shopping stamp set and the Oh Happy Day Card Kit stamps - these are so cute and cover a host of occasions. I used the heart from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits and cut several out in Melon Mambo and glued them underneath the top stamped image. Then I added a bow using the Melon Mambo Thick Baker's Twine. I broke the rules and added my greeting to the bottom right hand corner! I love Melon Mambo and Mint Macaron together! Okay I'm off to start my day and the busiest week of the year for me - making everyone beautiful for their summer holidays! Have a great week and see you soon -

Last Minute Christmas Cards!

Have you left making your Christmas cards till the last minute? Here are some super quick and easy cards I made using "This Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper". The sentiment is from the "Wonder of Christmas" stamp set.  I based these cards on a sketch by the amazingly talented Teneale Williams. I was thrilled to meet (stalk) her again in Brisbane at On Stage. To my complete and utter amazement she knew who I was! Sketches are a great way to get creative and if you find a layout you particularly like use it over and over again. It can save hours of wondering what to do next. I've started a Board on Pinterest titled Card Sketches to help so pop on over to check them out. Here's the link https://nz.pinterest.com/angenz/card-sketches/ . My Stampin' Up!® order arrived today with lots of new goodies so I'm off to play!

More Mediterranean Moments!

Global Design Project 065 | Colour Challenge Yay there's another colour challenge over at Global Design Project and that means you get the opportunity to be a guest designer if you win! How exciting would that be ... hanging out with some of my favourite Stampin' Up!® friends!  This stamp set (Mediterranean Moments) has four lovely images and when I look at them I automatically feel relaxed and warm! It's supposed to be summer here in New Zealand but it definitely doesn't feel like it!  I also used the Happy Retirement stamp from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments set - this is a must have set as it has 24 sentiments covering every occasion. The spotted crumb cake and whisper white background paper is from the new Party Animal DSP available from 4 January 2017!  I coloured my image in using the ink pads and a blender pen and as I wanted my little red scooter to stand out I coated it in Fine-Tip Glue to give it a glossy finish. Colouring in is very relaxing and o

Global Design Project #064 | CASE the Designer

My card today is inspired by the Global Design Project CASE the Designer Challenge and this week's CASE is Connie Collins. CASE-ing means copy and selectively edit - taking inspiration from the colours, layout, stamp set, theme - whatever you are inspired by! I was inspired by Connie's colours although in a more subtle way and I chose to use the flowers from the Number of Years stamp set.   My card base is 14.9 x 10.5cm and the first layer of So Saffron is 14.1 x 9.7 then the top layer is a total of 13.9 x 9.5 with 3cm of So Saffron embossed using the Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder. I find this layering works really well and has become a bit of a standard with my cards.   The colours I've used are So Saffron, Mint Macaron, Marina Mist and Soft Sky, lovely soft colours. I've added quite a few Pearls - you can never have too many jewels and a bow in Whisper White Bakers Twine.   It's Sunday already here and after a hectic week we're having a r

Enjoy the Adventure!

Hello and welcome! This week's Global Design Project Challenge is an "Adventure" theme! I couldn't resist using the new "Carried Away" DSP from the upcoming "Sale-a-Bration" catalogue which starts 4 January 2017. I teamed it with the caravan from the "You're Sublime" stamp set and the sentiment comes from another new set "Suite Sentiments" from the Occasions Catalogue also starting on 4 January 2017. The circle is from the "Stitched Shapes Framelits" which are on special till 30 November 2016. I love these shapes with the little stitched holes. And the colours in the "Carried Away" DSP are gorgeous - Mint Macaron, Night of Navy, Peekaboo Peach, Smoky Slate, Watermelon Wonder and Whisper White. To make the caravan pop I coated it with the Fine-Tip Glue. It gives it shine and dimension, it makes a great replacement for the now retired "Crystal Effects". The enamel shapes add a lit

Mediterranean Mojo!

Yay my "little" bbb (big brown box) arrived yesterday and between clients I've managed to make a card using the gorgeous new Mediterranean Moments stamp set, the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies and the Falling in Love DSP. This scene takes me back to my days in Europe sitting at places similar to this where the days were warm and endless! A far cry from today - it's cold and pouring with rain and my to do list is a mile long! Not that I'm complaining as I love my life with my little family and it's what I wished for all those years ago! This is Vivie and me (on the left) on a trip to Spain in October 1986. We flatted together in London and would have our holidays in various gorgeous locations around Europe. We are still friends today!   These scenes look lovely whether they're watercoloured, embossed or just stamped. I think they'd be great stamped and made into a mini colouring-in book.   Enjoy the rest of your day and see you soon -

Fruit Stand Thanks!

When I saw the Global Design Project #062 | Sketch Challenge  I knew exactly what I wanted to make! And what DSP I wanted to use! Then it was just a matter of getting into my craft room to get creating.  I decided to make four cards using different designs of the Fruit Stand DSP and cardstock. I'm going to give these to a friend who has recently lost her father - I'm sure they'll come in handy.       I love this paper (this is actually my second pack) so I definitely #loveitchopit as Kylie encourages everyone to do! I don't think it's a good idea to save paper to use later as our tastes change and sometimes you don't even like paper you've put away for a raining day! Plus I like to make room for the new papers!   Remember to go check out all the fabulous creations from the GDP design team - they're always so inspirational!   Have a great week and thanks for stopping by  -

Going Crazy!

Hi and welcome to my newly designed blog which is the work of the incredibly talented and gorgeous Louise Sharp ( http://www.louisesharp.com.au/ ). It's so much nicer to be posting on a beautifully decorated blog!   Now that my feet are back on terra firma after my amazing Brisbane trip I thought I should make my card for this week's Global Design Project challenge.  For some reason I just couldn't settle on what to make and each time I made a card I put it to one side and started again! There's something to be said for putting it away and coming back with fresh eyes, which is exactly what I did this morning and here they all are! This card uses the Love You Lots Hostess stamp set. I love this little frog it's so cute and quirky! I've made this card with a special friend in mind who is always so thoughtful, kind and does some wonderfully sweet things for me! The flamingo and leaves from the Pop of Paradise stamp set work perfectly with these colo

I was in flats and they took their heels off a minute after this photograph was taken!) Denita, Louise, Me and Kylie  Unfortunately I didn't get a photograph with the amazingly talented Teneale Williams - hopefully next time!   And yes this is me! Hello Lovely!

OMG this is going to be the smallest and fastest post I have ever done - so hold onto your hats you're in for a fast ride! The reason being I'm off to Brisbane for On-Stage tomorrow and I have to be up at 3am and suddenly there seems to be so much to do! But I'm not about to miss the latest challenge over at the Global Design Project.   This week's challenge is Global Design Project #060 | CASE the Designer   and it's the irrepressible and totally gorgeous Brian King! Brian's cards mostly have lots of layers and are very smooth - haha I haven't meet him but I imagine he's a lot like that himself!  For my card I've used a piece of designer series paper from the Serene Scenery stack which looks like a painted wooden door and then adhered the flower and greenery. The flower is from the Hello Lovely Project Life Card Collection and I've just fussy cut around it. The Hello Lovely stamp is from the Hello Lovely Project Life Accessory Pack.

Global Design Project #59 | Theme Challenge

Hello again! Now my mojo's back I'm on a roll! I've been wanting to make a set of cards for ages and use my Love You Lots Hostess set. I decided this challenge would work perfectly for both!  I also used a sketch challenge layout from July - it's a great idea to keep a folder of sketches on your computer so you can easily refer to them for ideas especially the ones you particularly like. The Polka Dot embossed background and the Rhinestones add lovely texture and sparkle to these cards. If you'd like to earn this super cute "Hostess only" stamp set you can host a Stampin' Up! party, and you, your friends, and family will learn new stamping techniques, project ideas, and ways to express your creativity. While you're having fun with friends at your party, remember that you're also earning hostess rewards. When your Stampin' Up! party reaches qualifying sales levels, you'll receive free Stampin' Up! rubber stamp se

Mojo Monday 470 - Sketch Challenge

Hello and thanks for stopping by it's lovely to have you here! I needed to make a card for a very dear friend who's having a birthday tomorrow (in fact I have two friends having birthdays tomorrow but I'd already made one of the cards) and as my mojo was lost I decided to use the sketch over at Mojo Monday to help me!   I used my Birthday Blooms stamp set which hasn't seen the light of day for a while and the Happy Birthday is from the Party with Cake stamp set. I gold embossed the flower and water coloured it using my aqua painter then accessorised with gold embellishments! It's quite a busy sketch but I'm happy with my end result and hopefully the recipient will be too!   There are quite a few challenge websites out there - I've got a list of over 20. It's a great way to try something you wouldn't necessarily, especially colour challenges, and you might just surprise yourself! Have a great week and see you back here soon - Angela
