Thanks Colour INKspiration

You know those days when you should be cleaning the kitchen but you manage to do everything else but! Well today is one of those day so instead I'm here which is much more fun!!! Here's my latest card for the Colour INKspiration challenge on facebook. These challenges are just that "challenges"!  I had some ideas in my head of how I wanted my card to look but they just weren't coming together so instead I started playing around with my Swirly Bird stamp set which hadn't seen the light of day for quite a while. I teamed it up with part of the Thanks for Being a Great Friend stamp from the Window Shopping set. It's great to try something new and push your own boundaries.  It's funny how succulents are making such a revival. They bring back fond memories of my Nana and Grandpa and their beautiful garden which had a little succulent area. Okay no excuses now ... I'm off to clean my kitchen!

Global Design Project 071 | Theme Challenge

On the 25th of February some fellow Stampin' Up!® demonstrators and I are having an afternoon of crafting and fun. I wanted to prepare some displays for the day and when this week's challenge came up at Global Design Project it meant I wouldn't be leaving it all until the last minute! Of course Stampin' Up!® have made it super easy to create a co-ordinated display with their gorgeous Suite's in the Occasions catalogue - it was just a matter of which one! I decided on Cupcakes and Carousels with it's party theme! Everything from the rosette to the little banner around the cake stand used the Cupcakes and Carousels designer series paper and I co-ordinated it with matching ribbon and embellishments from the Embellishment Kit. This little treat bag was cut from the Glassine Sheets (from the Sending Love Suite) using the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits. I used the Bow Builder Punch for the bow and the tassel is from the Embellishment Kit - are they super cute?

Sending Love♥

Another one of Stampin' Up's gorgeous new Suite's is called Sending Love which uses bold designs and traditional colours. And although we're not big into Valentine's Day in our household I couldn't resist making a card and treat holders for my DH using this striking Designer Series Paper Stack! He's big into chocolate and sweets though so these will hit the mark! The Love stamp comes from the Weather Together stamps set and works perfectly with the DSP and embellishments. The Sending Love Suite includes cardstock, mini paper clips, ribbon, DSP, wood element embellishments, stamps and co-ordinating framelits dies. Both treat holders use a single sheet of the DSP stack and instructions on how to make this cute little treat holder can be found here Diaper Fold Pouch Tutorial. The other treat holder is just big enough for a couple of Whittaker's Chocolate Squares. It is made by simply folding the DSP into threes and gluing the side and bottom and

Global Design Project 070 | Sketch Challenge

Cupcakes and Carousels Suite   Have you seen the Cupcakes & Carousels Suite in the new Occasions Catalogue? Its theme is carnival imagery with vintage flair - super cute! For my cards today I've used the Embellishment Kit with the co-ordinating paper from the Designer Series Paper Stack. Bermuda Bay is teamed with Pool Party embellishments for this card. My card was designed using this week's Global Design Project Sketch Challenge #070. Seventy weeks - yep I've been making a card every week for 70 weeks! And I just love it. Every Monday I can't wait to see who the winners and special mentions are and of course see what the next challenge is. Last week's winner of the challenge was the super talented and gorgeous Denita Wright. She also gets to be on the next Colour Challenge Design Team - how exciting! If you want to make a card quickly these kits are perfect as they cut out a few steps when you're making a card - like fussy cutting, and all t

Beautiful Colour INKspiration!

Colour INKspiration Challenge #01 Today I'm sharing a card I made especially for the new Colour INKspiration challenge on Facebook. And yes I'm using the Beautiful You stamp set again - just shows how versatile it is! This time I've teamed it with the Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper (a Sale-A-Bration freebie) which I've coloured using all the challenge colours. Aren't they such gorgeous colours - I couldn't bear to leave one out!   And the flower on her hat is cut and coloured from the DSP too! If you'd like to join in the fun you can request to join the facebook page and upload your creations  https://www.facebook.com/groups/349642308720075/ . There's lots of fabulous inspiration there too!

Dragonfly Dreams meets Urban Underground!

Global Design Project 069 | Colour Challenge     The Urban Underground Specialty Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up!® is a collection of patterned papers from the Urban Underground Suite which comprise masculine metallic, patterns and textures.  For this week's Global Design Project I've teamed it up the dragonfly and sentiment from the Dragonfly Dreams bundle to create my card.   When I saw this week's challenge I immediately thought of the Urban Underground DSP, I just wasn't sure what my free choice colour would be. As Very Vanilla is one of the colours in the DSP the decision was made for me (thankfully)!    The silver thread under the dragonfly thinlit adds a subtle bit of extra silver. And if you know me I take any opportunity to add a bit of bling! I hope you've had a lovely weekend and have a fabulous week

Beautiful You!

With its gorgeous collection of elegant women and perfectly matched phrases the "Beautiful You" stamp set by Stampin' Up!® makes creating a feminine card seamless.     The image and sentiment were stamped with the Basic Black Archival Stamp Pad and coloured using a Blender Pen and ink from the lid of the Watermelon Wonder and Peekaboo Peach Stamp Pads. The diagonal striped DSP is from the Tasty Treats Specialty DSP pack and the doilies add a soft and feminine touch.   These cards are for our team meeting swap on the 23rd and I'm hoping everyone likes this set as much as me!

Male Mojo!

Up until now I've struggled with making male cards but the Urban Underground Suite in the new Occasions Catalogue has changed that! All the elements work perfectly together so it makes putting a male card together easy.   The Mojo Monday layout was a great starting point.     The colours in the Urban Underground Specialty Designer Series Paper are Basic Black, Basic Gray, Delightful Dijon, Silver and Very Vanilla (I'm not a Delightful Dijon kinda girl but this totally works and has made me view it differently)! The screws are from the Embellishment kit and are perfectly masculine! I've also used the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder which creates a great background on this card. And the BEST. GUY. EVER. stamp comes from the Suite Sentiments set which has everything covered!   The oval is from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies which has to be one of the "best things since sliced bread" Stampin' Up!® product! Global Design Project 068 | Case the Designer

Welcome to my 100th post and another challenge from the fabulous Global Design Project team. This is a CASE the designer challenge and the talented Jess Williams is this week's muse.  I was lucky enough to meet Jess in Brisbane last November. Jess is such an energetic and effervescent woman that you can't help being caught up in her energy, and I think this is totally reflected in her cards gorgeous cards.     Jess's perfectly balanced layout was the inspiration for my card. The background paper is from the Tasty Treats Specialty DSP (Occasions) and the water coloured flower is from the Inside the Lines DSP (Sale-A-Bration). The Inside the Lines DSP held up well to the water colouring and I did go over it quite a few times but tried not to get it too wet and yes I did fussy cut it!   The Happy Birthday is from the Balloon Celebration stamp set and I used Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz and So Saffron for my colouring. The gold ribbon is from the Metallic Ribbon

Beautiful You

A fellow Stampin' Up!® demonstrator and friend has recently had a fall and I wanted her to know I was thinking of her by sending a card. I decided to get my inspiration from a couple of challenges and decided on Just Add Ink #342..."Just Add N"   and HLS January Watercolour Challenge . With these two challenges in mind I used the new "Beautiful You" stamp set. I love this set with its gorgeous images, sentiments and fonts.   I started with a piece of Watercolour Paper and stamped my image in Basic Black Archival Ink then I used an Aqua Painter with Sweet Sugarplum for the dress and Night of Navy for the umbrella. The sentiment is also stamped in the Basic Black Archival Ink and the Sweet Sugarplum Enamel Shape just finishes it off!     I used Marina Mist to watercolour around the image and the strip of DSP down the side is from the Playful Palette DSP Stack.   Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy New Year!

Yay it's here 2017 - I'm so excited to be starting a New Year! It's going to be fantastic!   Among my New Year's Resolutions is to be more timely with my Global Design Project entries and to blog more regularly - it's out there now so I will have to hold myself accountable! For now though I'm just going to sneak this last GDP entry in under the radar and start from next week (yes tomorrow)!     Thankfully #067 lasted two weeks as the days leading up to Christmas were crazy around here and then on Boxing Day the girls and I headed to Mapua and Stephen's Bay. I had a car accident on the way which we thankfully walked away from but the car wasn't so lucky. We still managed to continue with our holiday with the help of our fantastic friends who went above and beyond to help us.     For my get well card I've used the Sprinkles of Life Stamp Set and co-ordinating punch. The gorgeous spotted designer series paper is from the Tasty Treats
