Kelly's Stamping Friends Blog Hop

Tuesday 30 May 2017 How exciting is today? I'm thrilled to be helping Kelly Kent celebrate 5 years as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator by blog hopping with Kelly and her friends.   The theme for this hop is "Happy" and what better why to celebrate happy than with a birthday!     Today I'm using the Weather Together stamp set which I've stamped in the new "Powder Pink" ink to match the "Powder Pink" designer series paper from the Fresh Florals stack. This paper is gorgeous, it has four designs in each of the new In Colours - Berry Burst, Fresh Fig, Lemon Lime Twist, Powder Pink and Tranquil Tide. The Happy Birthday stamp is a new one from the Hostess Set "In the City" - I love the font!      And a little inside decorating ... The celebrate is from the Beautiful You set.   This card will soon be on its way to the UK to my lovely friend Julie. I worked with her husband Peter when I was 22 and on my OE. We

Colour INKspiration - CI10

Monday 29 May 2017 Hello and welcome to my blog. My card today is for the latest challenge at Colour INKspiration. I find it great participating in colour challenges as they often use colours I wouldn't normally reach for and it means I widen my horizon when it comes to colour! This week's challenge colours are ones I don't use often and certainly not together but once I started pulling the cardstock out and coming up with my design I actually really liked them. This was one of the cards I made at our BYOP on Saturday. It was great getting feedback from other stampers as we made our cards. And it was also great being able to share products. The embossed background used the new "Oh My Stars" embossing folder - I'm definitely adding that to my list of purchases! The Happy is from the "Thoughtful Banners" stamp set and the "Birthday" is from the new "Happy Birthday Thinlits" - I 've layered it twice here and cu

Global Design Project - CASEing Shawn

Sunday 28 May 2017 This week's Global Design Project #GDP088 is CASEing the very talented Shawn de Oliveira. His cards are gorgeous!   To CASE a project you can Copy And Selectively Edit anything you like from the design and make it your own. It might be the stamp set - the colours, the layout, the flowers, whatever you like that has inspired you to make a card of your own.   I took my inspiration from the layout and the flower. I used the daisy from the new Daisy Delight Stamp set and the co-ordinating Daisy Punch.     I embossed the daisy and its leaves with white embossing powder and coloured it in using Berry Burst and Old Olive inks with an Aqua Painter.   Congrats comes from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits and is in Berry Burst to match the card base and colouring of the daisy.   A sprinkle of Pearl embellishments complete my card.   I made this card yesterday while at a BYOP Day with several fellow demonstrators and customers. We had a great day

Wednesday 24 May 2017     Hi and welcome to my blog. I am part of a training group - Aim for Alaska. This group is the brainchild of Kylie Bertucci to help her fellow demonstrators earn a Stampin' Up! incentive trip to Alaska. It's a group of like-minded people all willing to work hard and support each other. Among the many things I've learnt the one that I keep coming back to is "not to give up"! Also a lot of what I've learnt can be applied to other areas of my life so it's a win win! Today's card showcases new products from the Annual Stampin' Up! Catalogue being released 1 June! It's full of lots of fabulous new products and ideas. If you live in NZ and don't have a demonstrator please contact me and I'll send one out to you. You won't want to miss it! Global Design Project 087 | Theme Challenge

Monday 22 May 2017 I'm at a beauty therapy course all day today so I spent yesterday in my craft room creating cards for upcoming events. It was great having a whole day and thankfully I was feeling creative. Crafting Forever is such a cool stamp set and co-ordinates well with this new Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper.  I created my own paper to go with the Pick a Pattern DSP by colouring a piece of Shimmery White Cardstock using an Aqua Painter and colours from the DSP. I then cut it out using Stitched Shapes Framelits circle. The black embellishments are actually Rhinestone Basic Jewels that I coloured using a black Sharpie. And the inside - which is completely true today! Have a fabulous week and see you soon.

Hello There Colour INKspiration!

Sunday 21 May 2017   Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I'm sharing a card made for the Colour INKspiration Challenge C109.    My card offers a sneak peek of a new item in Stampin’ Up!’s 2017 Annual Catalogue due to be released 1 June. It's the Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack and comes in Berry Burst, Old Olive, Crushed Curry, Dapper Denim and Whisper White. The new catalogue is filled with lots of amazing new products and ideas - you won't want to miss it!   So when this challenge called for Dapper Denim I went straight to this new stack. It has six different designs so lots of choice! I used the Swirly Bird stamp set and its co-ordinating Swirly Scribbles Thinlits with the "Hello" and "there" from the Oh Happy Day Card kit. These colours were perfect for a nautical themed card and the Stitched Shapes Framelits square finishes off my card. And of course a bit of twine adds to the theme.   Thanks for sto

Dragonfly Dreams

Wednesday 17 May 2017 Hello and welcome to our International Blog Highlights for the month of May. I am among Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world being highlighted by Kylie Bertucci and you are able to vote for my project. The theme this month is "Masculine".  I decided I'd like to make a card for my husband to let him know how much I appreciate all he does for us.   I love the Dragonfly Dreams bundle - it's perfect for a masculine card. The Dapper Denim and new Lemon Lime Twist look great together.   Green is my husband's favourite colour so I know he'll love this card. The wings of the dragonfly look great coloured in Lemon Lime Twist with the Dapper Denim "rocked" and "rolled" on the edges. The strip of Lemon Lime Twist has been made by running a piece of Shimmery White cardstock over the ink pad so it's not only green but it sparkles! The Dapper Denim enamel dots and black baker's twine ad

I hope you enjoy my card showcasing Retiring Products from the Annual and Occasions Catalogues. The Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper Stack has been a favourite of mine with its fresh colours and fun designs. Here I've teamed it with balloons from the Balloon Builders stamp set and words from the Party with Cake stamp set.   To complete the inside of my card I've added a strip of the DSP with co-ordinating twine used on the front.     To add that little extra touch, I've lined the inside of the envelope with the same DSP. So now it's already to be posted!   I hope the card you've seen here on my blog today has inspired you and brightened your day. You are currently visiting Angela Meiritz-Reid. Global Design Project #086 | Sketch Challenge

Wednesday 10 May 2017   Yay my BBB (Big Brown Box from Stampin' Up!) arrived today packed full of lots of new and exciting products pre-ordered from the Annual Catalogue 2017-2018! This is one of the many perks of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - please contact me if you'd like to know more.   Every Wednesday I spend the day with my mum and have done for over 17 years so when my goodies arrived today mum had to let out the appropriate oohs and aahs as I unpacked everything! Then later between children arriving home, preparing dinner and a beauty therapy client I managed to make this card for the Global Design Project Sketch Challenge.   This Designer Series Paper is called Delightful Daisy and is part of the Delightful Daisy Suite which is full of gorgeous co-ordinating products. Isn't the Double-Stitched Ribbon in Daffodil Delight so cute?     Here is the sketch for this week's challenge. I'm not really an angle person but I do like t

Colour INKspiration Card

Monday 8 May 2017   Hello Monday! I think I'll just manage to get this card into the Colour INKspiration Challenge before it closes. I spent a lot of time thinking about these colours as they're not my go-to colours but I wanted to participate as it's great to be "challenged".      And I'm actually quite pleased with how my card turned out! I used all the colours Delightful Dijon, Tip Top Taupe, Soft Suede, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla. I think it makes a great male card.     This Happy Birthday stamp from the Window Shopping set works perfectly coloured half and half.  It's easy to do using the Stampin' Write Markers.     A strip of the Soft Suede DSP along the bottom of the insert with a bit of Linen Thread to match the front finishes off the inside.   Have a great week and see you again soon.

Birthday Delivery Crate!

Saturday 6 May 2017   Have you seen the new Wood Crate Framelits? It makes the cutest little crate that is the perfect holder for little gift cards.   My upline, Manda Hill, kindly lent me some of her new products so I could prepare some samples to show my class next week.  I made up these little cards and popped them in a white crate and was disappointed that as the stamped images were at the bottom they couldn't be seen! My daughter said "what about a clear panel?", and with that I rushed into my craft room to make the crate out of a window sheet! It was a perfect solution to my problem and the window sheet folded easily and stuck together well using the Fase Fuse Adhesive. These cute little images and sentiment are from the new Birthday Delivery Bundle which is the star of the Birthday Memories Suite. I coloured them in using three of the gorgeous new In-Colors - Powder Pink, Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist. I can hardly wait till my order ar
